OCA to conduct East Zone u-15 coaching camp

Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) has been assigned to conduct the Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) for East Zone under-15 boys at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, from April 20 to May 19. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected 25 youngsters from six states of East zone to join the month-long training programme, which will be supervised by three coaches, a trainer and a physio. The trainees include six each from Assam and Jharkhand, five from Orissa, four from Bengal, three from Tripura and one from Sikkim. This is the first time that Orissa has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting a training programme of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), OCA secretary Asirbad Behera said. β€˜β€˜The BCCI has been trying to decentralise the programmes of the Bangalore-based NCA and conduct these on zonal basis. This year the under-15 training camp has been entrusted to five zones. Such camps for other age groups will be conducted on similar lines from next year,’’ he added. Under the programme, youngsters will be trained on all aspects of the game, including fitness, skill and technique.
